The King Of Ski Waxes
Rex began on a ski trip. In 1949, three young chemists in Lapland grew frustrated when their skis wouldn't glide, lost their grip, or froze. Convinced they needed a new era of waxes, they spent two years in the lab at Helsinki University of Technology—and got results. One of those skiers, DI Aarne Mahnala, founded Oy Redox Ab to produce the waxes. The company's breakthrough came with the Olympic torch for the 1952 Helsinki Games, and REX waxes made their Olympic debut that same year. Skiers embraced them immediately. Since then, Rex has grown from a Finnish favorite into an international name, still built on the same founding idea: consistent, reliable performance at the highest level.
